First-time home buyers and empty-nesters who are seeking value for their purchasing dollars may want to visit The Ponds of Genoa City during the grand opening of eight model homes.

The models feature professional interior design and include four townhomes and four Garden Homes. Four of the models are completely furnished while an additional four are partially decorated. The Ponds of Genoa City is located just across the state line in southern Wisconsin.

The Garden Homes are base-priced from $155,990 to $165,990, while the townhomes are base-priced from $162,990 to $184,990.

The Ponds of Genoa City is located just over the Illinois-Wisconsin border along Route 12. To visit from Illinois, take Route 31 north (it becomes Route 12) to South Road, turn right to Williams Road, then left to the sales center at 302 Parkview Blvd.

From Wisconsin, take Route 12 south to County H, turn left to South Road, then left on South road to Williams Road, left to the sales center. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call (262) 279-6100.

The Ponds of Genoa City will include 226 attached homes when complete, with 160 Garden Homes with lower levels and two-car attached garages plus 66 luxurious townhomes with basements and two-car garages. The community is being developed by the Dixon Residential Group, LLC of McHenry. The Garden Homes are base-priced from $155,990 to $165,990, while the townhomes are base-priced from $162,990 to $184,990. All homes provide freedom from exterior maintenance.

"In addition to the attainable pricing offered at the Ponds of Genoa City, we are also offering 100 percent financing with no money down through our preferred lender," McMasters said. "Add to that the facts that the cost of living is generally lower in Wisconsin and buyers can enjoy instant appreciation in this new community, and the new model homes should be a 'must-see' stop for value-conscious buyers."

"The value equation is also reflected in the popular luxury features that are included in each home. These include basements, central air conditioning, nine-foot first-floor ceilings plus volume ceilings in some plans and insulated drywalled, taped and painted garage walls. The luxurious townhomes also have oak railings and rough-ins for plumbing in the basements. -- The Danville, priced from $159,990; a ranch-style home with 1,295 square feet in an end location with two bedrooms, two baths, family room, dining room, kitchen with snack bar, deck, partial basement and two-car garage.
The four two-story townhome plans range from 1,411 to 1,741 square feet with two to three bedrooms, 1½ to 2½ baths, full basements, central air conditioning and two-car garages. The fully decorated models homes are:
-- The Dorset, priced from $174,990; a home in an end location with 1,564 square feet, two master suites, 2½ baths, two-story family room, dining room, kitchen with snack bar, first-floor study, main-floor laundry, full basement and two-car garage.
